Women’s swimming/diving remains undefeated, more in the athletics round up

Football falls to rival Delaware, 32-31

Towson running back Terrance West tallied another 200-yard performance Saturday night at Unitas Stadium in the Tigers’ loss to the Blue Hens. Delaware rallied in the fourth quarter and won the game on a two-point conversation in the final minute of the game.

The Tigers have off this week before going on the road to face William & Mary on Nov. 6 in Williamsburg, Va. The team’s final home contest of the season is on Nov. 23 against James Madison.

Swimming and diving teams compete at George Mason

The women’s swimming and diving team remains undefeated after sweeping through Fairfax, Va., this weekend with a pair of victories. The Tigers are now 8-0 on the season after defeating both George Mason and the College of Charleston. Both senior Kaitlin Burke and sophomore Jenna Van Camp won two events.

The men’s team improved to 6-1 on the season after also defeating George Mason and the College of Charleston. Diver Alex Cohen set a career-high score on the three-meter board with a 307.60.

Both teams compete next weekend against George Washington.

Volleyball drops 3-1 match to College of Charleston

Junior Saitaua Iosia recorded 11 kills and seven digs in the Tigers loss to the College of Charleston on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers evened the matched at 1-1 after dropping the first game, but were unable to maintain the momentum in defeat.

Towson faces Navy on Tuesday afternoon at SECU Arena and compete in their final road game of the season on Sunday against Delaware.

Field hockey ends season on road against Drexel

Towson goalkeeper Brittany Varacallo made eight saves in the first half alone; however, the Dragons offense overmatched the Tigers in a 4-0 final score. Megan Boyle entered the game for the second half to mind the net and was also peppered with shots, turning away five attempts.

The Tigers offense managed just four shots in the game as the squad dropped its final game of the season.
