The Towson Tigers football team is headed to the national championship for the first time in school history.

The team fought back from a trailing score midway through the fourth quarter to post a 35-31 victory over No. 3 seed Eastern Washington on Saturday. Playing the second half in place of injured senior quarterback Peter Athens, sophomore Connor Frazier sneaked across the goal line with 17 seconds remaining in the game to put the Tigers on top.

Towson will now face off against North Dakota State at the FCS National Championship game in Frisco, Texas on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. (EDT). Ticket information is forthcoming.

Towson alumni are invited to a pre-game reception on Saturday, Jan. 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (CST) at Tailgate Town at Toyota Stadium in Frisco. Tickets are $20.  Alumni, fans, friends and family can register here by Jan. 2.
