Towson welcomes prospective students with two-day TU4U event

Campus tour

Student-led tours of campus are just one of the many offerings of TU4U.

More than 1,400 students and their families will descend on the Towson University campus this week for “TU4U,” a two-day event for students who have been admitted to TU and are still making their final college decisions.

Held at SECU Arena on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12, the event will showcase all that Towson has to offer in academic major programs, student engagement opportunities and campus life.

“We have been working hard planning this event since last summer and are excited to show our prospective students everything that Towson has to offer,” explains Joe Schuberth, associate director of undergraduate marketing.

“We are grateful to all the faculty, staff and students who will be present at the event to welcome our guests to our amazing university.”

Special efforts have been made to make the event as personal as possible, from asking the prospective students what questions they would like answered to providing student, faculty and staff representatives from countless university departments with whom the students can interact.

The university’s seven colleges, as well as dozens of student groups and academic and administrative departments, will have representatives on hand to answer questions from students and parents. Student ambassadors will also participate in a Q&A program and provide campus tours, and a special hospitality suite will offer information tailored to the unique needs of Towson’s transfer students.

Lunch, music and videos, and other fun activities are also planned throughout the day.

“This is an all-hands-on-deck event for TU, and a great opportunity for prospective students and their family members to get a better feeling for Towson so that they can make their final college search decision,” says Mike Berends, director of undergraduate marketing programs.
