Towson University’s College of Business and Economics will host its third annual Supply Chain 2020, a supply chain management forum, on Wednesday, May 14 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the West Village Commons Ballroom A.
Each year, Towson’s supply chain management M.S. program welcomes regional professionals to campus for an interactive discussion on how to innovate the supply chain.
Featured speakers include Robert Novack, an associate professor of business logistics at the Pennsylvania State University Smeal College of Business, and John Bell, an assistant professor of supply chain management at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville, College of Business Administration.
In his presentation, “Adapting to the Changing Supply Chain Landscape,” Novack will discuss his recent study on issues and responses to immediate threats to the consumer packaged goods industry, the results of which are based on in-depth interviews with several leading supply chain executives and a large-scale survey.
With “Global Supply Chain Trends: Finding the Next Game-Changer,” Bell will discuss research conducted by the University of Tennessee’s Global Supply Chain Institute on ten mega trends in supply chain management, as well as a number of emerging global trends with the potential to become mega trends.
Towson University offers Maryland’s only Master of Science degree program in supply chain management, which is designed to develop professionals who can manage, analyze and control activities across the entire supply chain from upstream procurement and logistics to downstream distribution channels.
The Supply Chain Forum is free and open to the public but space is limited so reservations are required. Registration and networking will take place from 5:30-6:15. Presentations will begin promptly at 6:15 and conclude by 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
