Towson rewarding school spirit through “Tiger Friday” campaign

TigerFriday-FINAL.jpgStarting this Friday, Sept. 19, every Friday will be known as Tiger Friday on our campus. Students, faculty, staff and alumni are all encouraged to wear their Towson U apparel on campus, and post photos online for a chance at fun prizes.

They can also post photos, videos and status updates to their social media accounts with the hashtag #TUTigerFriday.

“This is a great way to bring the university community closer together while also bringing a sense of camaraderie to campus,” said Towson University Acting President Timothy Chandler. “This initiative goes beyond supporting our athletics teams. By celebrating Tiger Friday, we can establish a tradition while showing our pride and school spirit for the entire university.”

Any TU student, faculty member or staffer who posts with the hashtag is eligible to win prizes like gift cards to the University Store, T-shirts and retail points for their university OneCards.

Alumni can also earn rewards by using #TUTigerFriday on Facebook and Twitter, including special prize packages or tickets to upcoming home football games.

Those who don’t post online are still eligible. Towson’s “Black and Gold Patrol” will circulate on campus looking for spirited Towson supporters. Tiger Friday will also coincide with $5 Friday in the dining halls at Newell, the Glen and West Village Commons. Faculty and staff members who wear Towson apparel to lunch, can be eligible enter a raffle for University Store gift cards.

Winners will be decided every Friday at 3 p.m. The University Store features sales on Fridays for those looking to bulk up their TU wardrobe.
