Towson University students Bryan Goodyear ’15, Meredith Walter ’15, Ariana Kim ’15 and Scott Hands ’15 are the latest Tigers to hoist a trophy after they won the inaugural Weinman Cup Case Competition on Friday, April 17, defeating teams from University of Maryland, Morgan State, Kutztown and Shippensburg.

Sponsored by the Toby and Melvin Weinman Foundation, T. Rowe Price and Ports America Chesapeake, the supply chain management case competition required the teams to create forecasting models and come up with a supply chain system to eliminate warehousing in order to minimize costs for a retailer that sells gas grills. A panel of industry experts judged the College of Business and Economics (CBE) students’ solution the winner.

CBE’s director of graduate programs outreach Toby Porterfield says the event will become an annual tradition, and the team to represent Towson will continue to be selected from TU’s annual fall case competition, which is open to all Towson students.
