Students can provide their opinions on TU’s presidential selection process

Towson University students are invited to attend a Town Hall meeting with Mr. Dave Kinkopf, chair of the presidential search and screening committee. Kinkopf will discuss the search process and solicit feedback from the audience on what the committee should consider as it selects candidates for the next president of Towson University.

The meeting will be held Monday, May 11 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the West Village Commons fourth-floor ballrooms A&B.

The presidential search and screening committee was created on April 15, 2015 by University System of Maryland (USM) Chancellor William E. Kirwan, who appointed Kinkoff as chair. Kinkoff is a member of the USM Board of Regents and a partner with the Baltimore law firm of Gallagher Evelius & Jones, LLP. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame and Harvard Law School, then served a clerkship with the Honorable J. Frederick Motz, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.

Chancellor Kirwan anticipates that the search and screening process will be completed within six months. The committee’s work will conclude with its recommendation of finalists for consideration by the chancellor and the Board of Regents. The board makes the final selection.
