The Towson football team returns to action on Saturday against Saint Francis (Pa.) in the Tigers’ home opener at Johnny Unitas® Stadium.

The Towson football team is looking to strike gold in its home opener against Saint Francis (Pa.) on Saturday, Sept. 12. The game will be a special “Gold Rush” game; the first 3,000 students at the game will receive a free gold t-shirt.

The game will also be “First Responders Appreciation Night.” All first responders will receive four complimentary tickets, while other fans will be able to grab tickets for the special price of $9.11. And as with all athletic events, students receive free entrance with their OneCard.

The Tigers are coming off a 28-20 loss at East Carolina, but they shined on the offensive end. Towson enjoyed its best offensive output against an FBS opponent, accumulating 416 yards of offense. The team was led by running back Darius Victor, who ran for 137 yards and recorded his ninth career 100-yard rushing game.

This weekend the Tigers host Saint Francis (Pa.) for the fourth time in school history. The Tigers have a perfect 3-0 record against Red Flash, with the last win coming in 2012 by a score of 46-17.

Last week the Red Flash picked up a 48-20 victory against Georgetown. The Tigers will also face a pair of high-powered running backs in Khairi Dickson and Marcus Bagley, who each totaled over 100 yards last Saturday.

The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. kickoff. Tickets can be bought at the Unitas Stadium box office or online at TowsonTigers.com. Parking lots and tailgating will begin at 2 p.m.
