The men’s basketball team takes on CAA rival Delaware on Saturday at SECU Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.

As Towson men’s basketball heads down the final stretch of the season, the team is looking to stay in the top half of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) standings.

The Tigers will look to extend their win streak to three as they host rival Delaware on Saturday at SECU Arena at 2 p.m.. The Tigers are one of five CAA teams within one game of each other at the top of the standings.

Right now the Tigers are tied with James Madison and William & Mary for third with 6-3 conference records. UNC Wilmington and Hofstra are tied for first with 7-2 records.

This week, the Tigers returned from a two-game road trip that saw them pick up key wins at Northeastern (79-72) and Drexel (77-70).

Towson and Delaware met earlier this season, resulting in a 79-77 Tiger road win. The Blue Hens have struggled this season with an overall record of 5-15 and are winless in the league (0-9).

The Tigers, on the other hand, have been on a roll after a rocky start, winning 14 of their last 18 games. Leading the team in scoring has been redshirt-junior forward William Adala Moto, who averages 14.2 points per game (ppg) and has reached double figures 16 times in the Tigers’ last 17 games.

Sophomore guard Byron Hawkins (13.3 ppg) and sophomore guard Mike Morsell (11.7 ppg) have also been key in the Tigers’ recent success. Hawkins has scored 20 points or more in a game four times this season, while Morsell has reached double figures 16 times this season.

Saturday’s game is the first of the spring semester, and to celebrate the Towson athletic department will be giving away shirts to students in attendance.

Kids Day

Saturday’s game will also be special for the littlest Tiger fans as Towson will host Kids’ day at SECU Arena.

Children will enjoy free face painting, a balloon artist and plenty of photo opportunities with Doc during the game. After the game there will be a special, free screening of the hit Disney movie “Air Bud” on the arena video board.
