Towson University alumni, students, faculty and staff will celebrate Homecoming 2013 with a week of concerts, contests and community service, all culminating on Saturday, Oct. 12, when the undefeated TU Tigers take on the Villanova Wildcats at Johnny Unitas Stadium.
The “Tiger Time Machine”-themed Homecoming Week kicked off Sunday with a live performance by AWOLNATION, hosted by CAB in the university’s new SECU Arena. Other highlights include a talent show, a block party, a scavenger hunt, and the King and Queen of the Castle Pageant. Students can also participate in the “Yell The Madness” competition, where student organizations present a short routine that compliments and promotes school spirit.
Graduates of 2000 to present day are invited to the Tiger Taps and ‘Tizers event on Friday, Oct. 11, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Max’s Taphouse in Fells Point, where alumni can reconnect with classmates, network with fellow grads and kick off homecoming weekend.
On Saturday, students, alumni and fans are invited to the Homecoming Tailgate at 4 p.m. in Lot 14. The Homecoming game will follow at 7 p.m. in Unitas Stadium, where Towson fans can cheer the Tigers football team to victory against Villanova.
The TU Alumni Association will also host the Alumni Hospitality Area, featuring food, conversation and giveaways, in the Auburn Pavilion from 3 to 7 p.m. The nearly sold-out Alumni Tailgate Festival will be held concurrently in Lot 21 and on the field across from Auburn House.
Students and alumni can follow the Facebook feed, see and post Instagram photos, and join the #TowsonHomecoming conversation on Twitter. A comprehensive schedule of events and registration details are also available at the Homecoming website.
