Towson University Provost Tim Chandler has appointed Bethany Pace to the role of acting assistant dean of the Honors College, effective immediately.
Pace joined the Honors College in May 2012 as director of Academic Support and Co-Curricular Programs, where she helped students identify passions and navigate campus resources through academic advising, coordinating co-curricular events and overseeing the Honors College Leadership Council.
As acting assistant dean, she will manage the admissions and academics of the Honors College by scheduling courses, coordinating theses, capstones and internships, and supporting faculty, department chairs and others as outlined by the College’s academic program and mission.
“I am appreciative of the opportunity to expand my contribution to the university, the Honors College and our community of dedicated and enthusiastic scholars through this new role,” she said.
In her time at Towson, Pace has served on the Honors College Advisory Council, Honors College Curriculum Committee, National Scholarship Committee, Faculty Committee on Study Abroad, Diversity Action Committee and the Women in Leadership Conference Committee. She was also selected as a member of the 2014 President’s Staff Leadership Institute Class and serves as treasurer of the Executive Board for Women in Maryland Higher Education.
Pace received a B.A. in Journalism and an M.Ed. in Counselor Education and Higher Education Administration from The Pennsylvania State University, as well as a certificate in Campus and Community Programs for Intercultural Learning from NAFSA: Association of International Educators and a certificate from the Harvard Institute on College Admissions.
