The Towson University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams continued their hot start, with both teams picking up wins against George Washington this past weekend.
The women’s team remained undefeated, picking up a 192-101 win over GWU at Burdick Pool.
The Tigers are now 7-0 overall, including a 3-0 record in conference action.
“It’s great to beat a team that’s very talented,” head coach Pat Mead said. “I think we had some people who stepped up today and took advantage of the opportunity today with it being the last home meet of the fall semester.”
Seniors Amanda Barber and Victoria Oslund led Towson with four victories apiece. Junior Jenna Van Camp also picked up three individual victories.
The men’s team earned a 195-74 victory over George Washington to improve its’ overall record to 5-1 and 2-0 in CAA competition.
Jon Burr grabbed three individual victories along with a relay win. John Gartland picked up three overall victories.
“Today was a good meet but we need more of the new names to step up if we’re going to be really competitive at the end of the year,” Mead said. “We’ll look for our next meet, the Bucknell Invitational, for some swimmers to step up.”
Both teams return to action on Nov. 21, as they travel to Bucknell for a three-day invitational.
