Towson University students will be able to take the “It’s On Us” pledge on Tuesday, April 21 at Freedom Square.
The “It’s On Us” campaign, part of a broad, national initiative, seeks to inform the campus community about the importance of bystander intervention in helping to prevent sexual assault.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, TU students will be able it tell what it means to be a “Positive Tiger” at Freedom Square. Student Activities will also provide electronic devices for students to sign the “It’s On Us” pledge.
Students who sign the pledge will receive a free “It’s On Us” t-shirt or tank top. There will also be free Fractured Prune doughnuts for those who sign.
This event leads up to the “It’s On Us” Instagram challenge. To enter the challenge, students should post a photo on Instagram, wearing the t-shirt or tank top they receive at Freedom Square, with the hashtag #ITSONUSTU. Students must post their photo between April 21-28, and it must be consistent with the “It’s On Us” pledge.
Beginning April 29, the first 200 students to bring their photos to room 232 in the Union will receive a $10 Chartwells gift card. The grand prize for the most powerful photo will be a $50 Chartwells gift card.
