Students in the entrepreneurial student organization Enactus have opened a grab-and-go deli and café on the first floor of Stephens Hall.
It is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Fridays. Café Enactus offers locally roasted coffee and tea from Baltimore Coffee & Tea Company, along with grab-and-go deli selections such as sandwiches, salads and wraps.
While located next to vending machines, the café offers patrons healthier options at competitive prices. It is entirely student-run, which gives the staff the chance to put their classroom knowledge in management, marketing and accounting into action. The goal, the Enactus students say, is to create a legacy for future students here at Towson.
On a fun historical note, the new cafe is located not-too-far from the section of Stephens Hall’s first floor that served as the student union in the 1960s.
