Incoming president Dr. Kim Schatzel will be officially introduced to the Towson University community at an event Thursday, Dec. 10, at 11 a.m. in the Potomac Lounge of the University Union. All students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the university are invited to attend.
University System of Maryland Chancellor (and former TU president) Dr. Robert Caret and Towson Presidential Search Committee Chair David Kinkopf will offer brief remarks and then introduce Schatzel, who will share her thoughts about coming to Towson University.
Chancellor Caret and the USM Board of Regents appointed Schatzel as the university’s 14th president last Friday. She will officially join Towson as president on January 25, 2016 – the first day of the spring semester.
With final exams beginning on Thursday, we regret and understand that some students and faculty may not be able to attend this welcoming event. We will be posting an article and video showing highlights of the “meet-and-greet” in our newsroom on Thursday afternoon.
