Towson University expects to award 1,645 baccalaureate degrees, 652 master’s degrees and certificates, and eight doctoral degrees at its 149th Commencement ceremonies on Thursday, Dec. 19 and Friday, Dec. 20 on campus at the SECU Arena.
The three ceremonies mark the second Towson Commencement to be held in the university’s newest athletics venue, which will welcome thousands of graduates, parents, relatives and friends, as well as university administrators and faculty and staff leaders.
The College of Education and The Jess and Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics will hold their commencements on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 10 a.m., followed by the College of Business and Economics and the College of Fine Arts and Communication at 3 p.m. The College of Health Professions and the College of Liberal Arts will hold their commencements on Friday, Dec. 20 at 10 a.m. The Honors College will participate in all commencement ceremonies, and graduate 21 students total.
President Maravene Loeschke, Provost Timothy Chandler, and faculty and staff leaders will be on hand to celebrate the students, as will featured speakers that include members of the Towson University Student Government Association, Towson University Alumni Association, University System of Maryland Board of Regents, and undergraduate and graduate student representatives.

All commencement exercises will be streamed live on the TU Commencement website. Viewers can tune in Thursday beginning at 9:50 a.m. and 2:50 p.m. to watch the ceremonies.
